Vineyard Ventures

Now Albemarle, NC is a super small town so we had to stop into the local cafe and have a quick bite to eat before seeing the wineries. The name of the cafe was "Goody's" and boy was it good! I can hardly even describe how good their sweet tea was... yum yum yum!! This cafe doesn't look like it has changed much over the past 50 some years... kind of like stepping back in time to Mayberry... you think you are going to see Andy Griffin come in the door at any point.

Anyway, after lunch we started driving towards the first winery. Well, it was up in the mountains on an old gravel road and our little car couldn't make it (or we didn't want to try) so we turned around and headed towards winery #2.

We ended up visiting Uwharrie Vineyards, Dennis Vineyards, and Rocky River Vineyards. We had a great time, bought a little wine, and then headed back home.

  1. I haven't drank wine since January 1st, it was a rough night to say the least.

  2. sounds like a fun day; I enjoy visiting wineries; where we live (Temecula Valley in So. Calif), they have lots of wineries very close together; on the weekends it is really busy there with people wine tasting

    enjoy the Fourth :)
