Wishing and Hoping...

This week has got to be better than last week... I am hopeful.

Last week everything went wrong.

Last week we found out that Justin's mother has Cushing's Disease (again). Cushing's Disease is basically when you have a tumor on your pituitary gland that causes the gland to produce too much ACTH which causes your adrenal glands to produce too much cortisol.

So they are doing surgery on April 15th to remove the tumor.

What is ironic is that I thought I had Cushing's Disease/Syndrome (they are slightly different). You remember back when I had my little health scare? Well, that is what my doctors thought I had (which they have now ruled out -- they just aren't sure what I have).

With me, the only symptom I developed was the "hump/lump" on the back of my neck. I have had a x-ray done which found out my spine was not "bent" (meaning no scoliosis or lordosis). I have had an ultrasound done to make sure there were no masses (there were not any, thank God). I have had every single lab drawn that we can think of (EVERYTHING is normal). We still don't know what is causing this "hump/lump". It is not painful, just ugly and I want to know how to make it go away!! Here is a picture just so you can see what I have been dealing with:
Guess who isn't looking forward to tank tops and sun dresses this year? That would be me...

So anyway say a little prayer for Justin's mother (and for me).

Dog Talk

Gracie says, "Can I have my toys back...... please?????"
"Wait, you are going to play with me now.... right?????"

It's no wonder I can never get any work done around here... who could say no to that little face?

Shirts of a different color

Justin: (packing his clothes) Hey, will you grab my shirt out of the closet?

Me: Sure, which one?

Justin: The blue and white one.

Me: (looking in the closet) Um..... I need some more information....

Inspired

This is my Nana.
This is her 1st boat ride at the age of 81! Who says you are ever too old to try new things? She was scared out of her mind because she doesn't know how to swim. She made us PROMISE not to go too fast and to stay close to shore.

Fast forward 1 yr and now she is a dare devil! No life vest on and the shore is a lot further away. (ok, the life vest is right next to her, but she isn't WEARING it!)

She loves NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon -- as you can see on her t-shirt)

She loves America and loves living in the South.

Plus she is in better shape than most of the people in our family. She walks between 3-5 miles/day and she is now 83 yrs old. She really is an inspiration.

I hope that I get to age as gracefully as she has. I Love You Nana!

UPDATED: Apparently this is a double feature week for me. Yesterday I was featured HERE and today I am being featured HERE @ Kassie's blog!

Meet the Newlyweds

I am so excited. Today, I am being featured at The Newlyweds. This is my first time being featured on a someone else's blog. Although I am not "technically" a newlywed anymore, I am thrilled to be featured on Jenna's blog. I would love if you would go check my interview!

You wanna know some of my favorite things about getting married?

Well the wedding was nice
And so was the honeymoon through Paris and Venice

But the best part was getting home to see all of the presents!!! I was overwhelmed. Our guest bedroom was completely covered -- it truly was a sight to see!

Getting married was awesome! Especially if you get married to your best friend!

Now head on over to see my interview!

Monday Monday

I don't think I ever told you guys that we make a Menu every week to plan our meals. It helps keep us from eating out too much and keeps us on a budget. Here is our Menu for the week!

We plan a date night once a week. We switch off every week with who has to "plan" date night. This week I am the planner. Anyone have any good ideas on what we could do??

In other news, I have a BIG nursing test today... I made a lot of flashcards and I think I am prepared! Wish me luck! Yes, I type my flashcards... and yes there is a lot of info on them but that is just the way I do it.
I started decorating for Easter this past weekend. Here is a sneak preview of some of the decorations. I am not sure whether it is cheesy looking or cute. However, it was CHEAP to do. Most of this stuff came from the dollar store!

Last but not least, you all should go and enter this awesome giveaway at A Blonde Walks into a Blog. She is giving away 2 beautiful Lisa Leonard Necklaces!

All over the place

Besides studying, wanna see what else I've been up to lately?

Visiting the Lazy 5 Ranch where animals come right up to your car so you can feed them
Zebras and Llamas and Buffalo... OH MY!

Visiting "America's Largest Home", The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC
I haven't been there since I was 10 yrs old and it was so much fun!
There are over 250 rooms including 34 bedrooms, 42 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces
This week I'm on Spring Break but I will be spending most of it studying, writing papers, and getting caught up in school! No rest for the weary!

MIA

Two girls in my nursing school got kicked out of our program today which completely freaked me out. I am most likely not going to be around much this week because it is a super stressful week and I am trying to be at the top of my game!

Next week is SPRING BREAK and I promise I will be around more!!

Also, I will announce the winners of the giveaway this weekend! I had an overwhelming amount of entries. 99 people entered my giveaway with over 600 entries! WOW!! Thanks to all of you for making my 1 yr blogoversary so special!!
