GIVEAWAY -- CLOSED!

I was going to wait until tomorrow but I am just way too excited!!
Guess what time it is??

Just Add Walter

You guys have heard me talk a lot about Lauren Nicole Gifts.

You can find some of the cutest monogrammed jewelry and gifts ever on this site. EVERYTHING is custom made and EVERYTHING is really affordable.

Denise, the owner, is also one of the sweetest people on the planet. She does TONS of giveaways on her site, so you should make sure you follow her or have her bookmarked.

She was also kind of enough to send me this necklace to review:

The name of this necklace: Key to my Heart

How cute is that?

You can pick any birthstone and any initial for a custom necklace. Not only could it represent your spouse/significant other but it could also be an awesome "mommy's necklace" or even represent your "fur baby"!!

I got mine personalized with an amethyst and a "J" to represent my hubby Justin. I did consider representing sweet little fur baby Gracie for a minute but decided against it... haha!

This necklace has been made to perfection and it is honestly my new favorite necklace.
It also came in the cutest little tin

Thank you so much LNG!
Now is where you guys come in.

Weekend Recap

Justin's oldest brother lives in Richmond, VA which means we hardly get to see his family including his two adorable girls (aka my nieces).

Yesterday they were visiting Raleigh, NC so we drove the 2.5 hours over to see them. We ate lunch and then played with the girls in the hotel room for a little bit before we had to head back to Charlotte.

Here is my sweet niece, Elizabeth.

She is learning to walk

She likes playing with Aunt Amy

Here is Elizabeth's sweet baby sister, Anna

She played with Justin for a bit

And then fell asleep in my arms while watching football

Then it was time to say good-bye! We had a great time visiting!

Next it was off to a friends house for a dinner/game night

We had a wonderful dinner prepared by these two

Played Taboo for a bit... a crowd favorite

Justin was not enjoying the pictures at this point...

But I forced asked everyone for one more picture before I put my camera up for the night

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I'm Special

The other day I won this monogrammed cosmetic bag in a giveaway from

But then I decided I would use it as a pencil case for school

I bet all of my classmates are so jealous!!

Lauren Nicole Gifts is still doing 30 days of giveaways... so go enter to win something!

I also won a couple of awards this week:

Sweet Brittany Ann @ Living in the Moment gave me this award. I have seen this award being passed around the blogosphere and was so sad no one was giving it to me... but now I have it... muhaha!! Thanks Brittany Ann!!

The rules:
I must list 7 things about myself...

1. I love cookie dough. I love it more than actual cookies. I could eat a whole role of cookie dough.... hmm.. now I am hungry.
2. I think that since I have dyed my hair brown I am a lot calmer than I was at as a blonde... other people have commented on this too.
3. While I study I listen to CDs of French songs and Italian songs... I can't understand them but they relax me.
4. I am CONSTANTLY losing things... especially my license and debit card... it drives my husband crazy but I am used to it by now
5. I did not know how to use the laundry machine until I was 20 yrs old. My mom would drive to my college and pick up my dirty laundry and return it pressed, folded/hanged every week. I was spoiled.
6. I love trying new things... You will almost never hear me say no to anything!
7. I believe in superstitions. Test days, football days, other important days always have some sort of ritual or clothing that MUST be worn or I feel completely crazy that day.

And now I must pass it on. This award goes to some of my brand new followers:
Drews Mom @ More Than Enough
Sheila @ Ma Vie Folle

****
And Jeannette @ "Cooler Ranch or Nacho Cheese?" gave me this award. I have never seen this award before so feel so lucky to receive it! Although dragons freak me out a little bit.

Because it has to do with "loyalty", I am going to give it to my top commenters!! These ladies make my day by all of their sweet/helpful/funny/inspiring comments and I can't thank them enough!!

Kathie @ my net finds

And last but not least, I leave you with a couple of pictures of Gracie in one of her new outfits...

Don't you just love her??

That is not a sippy cup...

I saw this little boy at one of the tailgates

Anyone see anything wrong with this photo?

yep, that cooler definitely says "shot glasses".

I can't believe I am *almost* at 100 followers... I may be doing a giveaway when I reach the big 100 mark... stay tuned!

PS: NO THURSDAY TIRADE this week... will resume again next week!!

The time I was called "a woman of the night"

In college I was in a sorority AND a coed fraternity. I went to a lot of date functions, parties, semi-formals, formals, etc. One semi-formal stands out in my mind above all the rest.

This is actually after Justin and I started dating. We got all dressed up, went to semi-formal, and danced the night away. Nothing too exciting.

However, on the way out I decided not to use the stairs (because those were way too far away) and would just jump down off of a wall to the street below. I took off my shoes (read: really high heels) and jumped. And then I didn't get up. Apparently the wall was a lot taller than I had anticipated. In fact the wall was over 8 feet tall!!! I am a big baby when I get hurt immediately started getting upset because I couldn't walk. To make matters worse, while I am waiting for the rest of my group (who did use the stairs) a couple of guys walk by me and ask, "How much are you??". Of course in their defense I was looking like a train wreck. I was all dressed up, sitting on the ground with my shoes in my hand, make-up smeared because I was crying, and all alone. Their comment sent me even further into my pity party I was having and by the time Justin and the rest of my group got to me I was in quite a state.

My friends went to get the car and pulled it up for me to get in (after they found the guys and yelled at them for making me upset). I went to the doctor the next day and found out I had a hairline fracture in BOTH of my heels. He also asked me why in the world did I come into his office wearing HIGH HEEL SHOES??? Well high heels were the only thing that would keep the pressure off of the heels of my feet that were hurt. Tennis shoes were unbearable. So I spent the next few days/weeks doped up on pain medication and being carried around my dorm room by sweet Justin.

That is the story of how I was confused with a woman of the night.

You may be wondering why in the world I jumped since I was all dressed up... just call me KLASSY... However, I won't be making that mistake again!

And since then everytime we are in downtown Winston-Salem, I get a comment from whomever I am with when we pass "my wall".

Take home message: Don't be lazy... always take the stairs.

PS: I had to put on comment moderation because of a spammer but I will approve EVERYONE so no worries!!

Nice to meet you!!

If you follow me on Twitter you may already know who I met this weekend
...but for the rest of you...
I showed up to the WFU game a little late this weekend since I had to work all day and then drive the 1.5 hours to Winston-Salem... but I did manage to get a few pictures of the tailgate:
I knew that my bloggy friend, M @ The Duncan Dialogues, would be at this game since both she and her husband went to Elon (the other team we were playing). She sent me a direct Tweet telling me where she was sitting so of course at halftime I went to meet her!!!!

Here is a picture of us. She is so sweet and it was so nice to meet IRL (in real life). I also got to meet "Mr. D" but did not get a picture of him... I think both our husbands weren't quite sure what to think about it... haha!! But yay for meeting my first bloggy friend!!

And incase you were wondering who won... we kicked some Phoenix booty

(picture of me holding up the Phoenix booty from our busted pinata)

Thursday Tirade

Just Add Walter

Ready to Vent?

Sometimes you just need to get things off your chest...
otherwise you might just go crazy

Justin is out of town all this week. I hate when he is out of town... it completely throws off my schedule... and even though he will be coming home on Friday he has to FLY BACK OUT on Sunday for another whole week!!! BOO!

My house is a disaster area!!!! I have no time to clean my house. I am studying all the time and feel completely guilty when I take time away from studying to even do minor housework. Although the main areas of my house are cleanish, I have started pushing all kinds of "STUFF" into our guests rooms and currently they look like they could be condemned. I know Justin is going to come home wonder what in the world happened... I really don't want to deal with that... but I just don't have the time...

Also, it turns out my stepfather has H1N1. I was around him all last weekend.... (please Lord do not let me get sick!!) He started having symptoms (high fever/coughing) right after we left my parents house on Sunday and has been home from work all week.... so far no symptoms for me (or my mom or Justin) so maybe we all lucked out on that one?!

Some good tirades this week:

Those of you that follow me on twitter may already know this but it turns out I did not make a 94 on my microbiology test the other day... I made a 99!! My prof. made 2 mistakes and I got 5 extra pts!! woop woop!

AND I won a giveaway yesterday!! Lauren Nicole Gifts is doing 30 days of giveaways and she is on day 16... run on over there and enter to win something... her stuff is FABULOUS!

That's all from me...

I am kind of boring this week so its your job to entertain me with YOUR tirades!!!

Write a post, grab the button and link up!

Lady in Yellow

I believe this lady got dressed in a hurry on her way to the football game

BIG OOPS....

I was not close enough to tell her about her mistake but I was close enough to take a picture to show all of you... sorry Lady in Yellow

But seriously... she had a husband and two children with her... why didn't they tell her?!

Has this ever happened to you?

No way this is real...

You guys have seen a lot of this little girl

You know how I buy lots of crazy things for her like her life vest and her umbrella for the rain. Plus she has a full wardrobe that sometimes she will model for you all.

Recently I got this comment on my post of Gracie's first boat ride:

I'm surprised Gracie wasn't wearing a swim suit. I would totally get one for my Lance just because it would be super cute in pics! (Well, that and he likes to dress up!)

I didn't know they made swim suits for dogs...
I can't believe I missed the opportunity to buy a bikini for her...
Next summer she may be sporting one of these:

However there is one thing I will NOT be buying for Gracie...

Introducing the "Puppy Purse"

This has to be a joke, right?!?

I may buy Gracie a bunch of useless things but I would never consider making her into a purse

That is just sad....
