Hammock Girl

I swear I see the weirdest things.

Good thing I ALWAYS have my camera handy.

I am walking through a parking lot I look over and what do I see?

um... what is that girl doing in a hammock in the middle of a parking lot? And what is she grabbing for you ask??

My mom is coming to Charlotte today for some errands and I decided to meet up with her.

Me: Well, where do you want to me up? I need some directions

Mom: ok, get off of the exit, go left then go right and cross the railroad and then I will be on the left in an unmarked building.

Me: (silent)

Mom: well, the building is probably marked somewhere but I don't know what it says.

Me: haha...so you actually don't know any real landmarks besides a random left/right/railroad track/unmarked building??

Mom: Well... no.

Me: I'm sure I won't have any trouble at all finding you....

Looks like I am off on a wild goose chase today! Wish me luck!

Do you use coupons at the grocery store?

They are doubling coupons up to $1.98 face value which means the savings are UN-REAL!

We went shopping this weekend and bought a total of 40 items.

We saved $54.59 with coupons

and an additional $15.38 was saved with their in-store VIC card

For a grand total of $69.97 saved on groceries!

Clipping coupons can sometimes be a chore but the savings are DEFINITELY worth it!

Since I am finding myself with a little bit of free time before summer school starts, I am joining a summer book challenge sponsored by Booking Mama.

Books and Diapers

Emily Giffin's new book is here!

I bought it yesterday and read and read until I finished it in one sitting.

I just love her style of writing. I have to admit I originally picked up her book because I saw that she went to the same undergraduate school I went to (Wake Forest). About 10 pages into her first book, I realized I needed to go back to the bookstore and buy ALL of her books and read them as fast as I could.

If you haven't read any of her books before, run to the nearest bookstore, library or wherever and pick them up.

MS Walk 2010

Walking for a CURE!

The MS Walk 2010 was a big success

Justin raised a lot of money last year and got his own sign!

Our team sponsored the 1st mile (there were 4 miles total)

It was a great day.

Our team raised a total amount of $5983 this year.

We are really proud of our accomplishments.

Birthday and Lake Fun

Last Thursday was my birthday. Justin and I went to dinner at The Fig Tree and then had some cake at home.

This weekend we had a combined Mother's Day / Birthday celebration on the lake with my family

As you can see, we had a lot of fun:

This year I am determined to learn how to wake board on the lake. I figure if my nephew could do it at 6 yrs old, I can do it too right?

Birthday!!

Today is my birthday!!

Reasons why my birthday is awesome:

1. May and Amy have the same letters

2. May has 3 letters, Amy has 3 letters -- that adds to 6 (which is the day of my birthday)

3. People out celebrating Cinco de Mayo are usually up late enough to celebrate my birthday too!

4. National Nurse Day is ALWAYS held on my birthday -- kind of seems like I was born to be a RN, huh?

5. International No Diet Day is ALWAYS held on my birthday which means I can eat ANYTHING I want today and not worry about it

The best part is finals are over -- summer has started and I have a day all to myself to spend however I see fit -- let the fun begin!

What is it?

Answer: A CHRISTMAS TREE

We took down the tree right after Christmas

Since we were going on a cruise for New Years, we put in the backyard to deal with it when we got back home.

Then we completely forgot about it .... oops!!

Now we don't know what to do with it.

We tried to put it out with the garbage -- the garbage men won't pick it up.

I think we might have to keep it until next Christmas.

Perhaps we can have a "Christmas in July" party and put it up as a decoration.

The possibilities are endless.............. right?! haha

I love it.

I am NOT scared of wearing it.

It's my Birthday Week!

(yes, I get a whole week, not just a day)

I celebrated (early) this weekend with some friends at Buca Di Beppo.

A Candelabra, A Cupcake, and some Chianti = perfect start to a birthday week

The only thing spoiling my birthday week right now is having to study for FINALS... BOO!

I have one exam on Tuesday and one exam on Wednesday ... Wish me luck! :)
