Rain Rain GO AWAY

It has been raining A LOT lately.

Gracie does not like the rain.

I have a doggy umbrella for her so she doesn't have to get super wet.

*note: I put on these boots just to take her outside... I was not really wearing them with this dress*

But she still looks at me like this after I force her to go take her outside

I'm sorry sweet girl... Mommy cannot control the weather.

The Day I Ran Over Myself....

Got your attention huh? Well its true... I ran over myself with my own car.

I was on my way home from work and I must have had a lot on my mind from the day.

I jumped out of my car (leaving my car in drive) and threw a bunch of bags I had in my car into the garage.

At some point I look back at my car in the driveway and realize my car is still running so I go over to my car and see my keys are still in the ignition.

I proceed to lean over and grab my keys. Well the keys won't come out but once the car (still in DRIVE mode) is turned off it starts to roll backward. I try to punch the brake with my hand but the car door slams into me and knocks me on the ground.

Then the car proceeds to RUN OVER ME!! (well it runs over my foot actually).

I am laying on the ground... my poor foot bleeding... watching as my car goes speeding down my driveway and crashes into my neighbors mailbox on the other side of the street...

my neighbors come running out to make sure I am ok. Of course I was wearing white pants that day and so the blood from my knee and ankle/foot are all over the white pants making the whole situation look a lot worse than it was. They are also looking at me like I am crazy that my car just RAN ME OVER and look like they are trying not to laugh.

The mailbox (which was cemented into the ground) was completely knocked over but at least my car hit that and not their HOUSE. And somehow in the chaos of getting knocked over myself I threw my BRAND NEW phone in the air and must have thrown it just right because it landed in a cup of water in my car and DIED... how I managed that I am not sure.

So I call my husband in tears and tell him I was in an accident. He does not ask "are you ok?" or "what happened?". He asks "was it your fault??". I say "well yeah, I ran over myself".

So he comes home and takes me to urgent care (my foot is really swelling at this time). The doctor takes me away from my husband and asks me outright if my husband did that to me because he didn't believe my story about how I RAN OVER MYSELF.

I was TOTALLY EMBARRASSED.... luckily my neighbors have since moved away but my friends that know the story still tease me every chance they get.

Now its your turn to tell... head on over to "Tova Darling" or "Once Upon a Miracle" to read some more true stories.

UPDATE: And if you REALLY liked my story... consider following me... I am almost to 40 followers and it would make my day if I made it to 40 today!! just a thought....

2nd UPDATE: THANKS SO MUCH to all of my new followers... not only did I make it 40 but I surpassed it!! I am SO HAPPY now... you guys (well ladies actually) are AWESOME!!

All by myself

Today I had a day all to myself and it was GREAT.

I start nursing school in less than a month so I will probably not have any days coming up that I can just relax and take it easy. I took full advantage of that today.

First on the list... I decided to go watch the movie "The Ugly Truth" ALL BY MYSELF.

I LOVE watching movies alone... maybe I am a weirdo. I got a big box of popcorn and a cherry coke and enjoyed them ALL BY MYSELF too. That movie was hilarious... although a little crude in some parts... there was one scene where I was crying I was laughing so hard... which probably is crazy when you are ALL BY YOURSELF.

Then I went to our brand new Wally World (aka: Walmart). Although I prefer Target, this new Walmart is about 5 minutes away from me so I am sure I will be shopping there once in awhile. In fact, I bought this today:

What is it you ask? Well, a little while ago, "The Mrs." @The Duncan Dialogues told us she had a few tasks for us. She could not perform these tasks because she was preparing for the bar exam (which she will be taking all day on tuesday (tomorrow) and wednesday -- go wish her good luck!!) :

3) Learn how to crochet. I'll even help you! I have some tutorial videos here. I want a full report hearing how your crochet is going. Because I sure don't have time to crochet right now, so I want you to. It is amazingly relaxing.

So, that is what I tried to do today.... I didn't get very far and had to start over a few times... but here is what I did:

So there you go... and it IS totally relaxing... you should try it!!

Next I read this entire book:

"The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. Read partly because it was required to read before I meet with my advisor and partly because I wanted to read it anyway. This book was GREAT. If you haven't read this book, go out and buy it immediately.

And that was my day.... spent doing some of my favorite things and it was wonderful!

I plan on buying this little yellow polo to wear to one of the Wake Forest football games this year. I mean technically our colors are black and gold... but most people veto gold for yellow anyway! And if its for school spirit, it really doesn't count as shopping right?

Prayer Requests

You have probably heard of me talk about Jessica and her awesome blog designs (like mine). Well her father passed away this morning at 5:45am. He had diabetes and was hospitalized on July 3rd for dehydration that led to pneumonia and then to double pneumonia. He also was battling something else that turned out to be Hairy Cell Leukemia. He was very strong and put up a long fight.

Please head over to "This That and My Blog" to support Jessica in her time of need.

Also, many of you also follow "MckMama" at My Charming Kids. Well her youngest son, Stellan aka: "MckMuffin", is back in the hospital battling SVT. Click over to her blog to learn about his heart condition and send some prayers her way.

Prayers for Stellan

To Have or Not To Have

I have heard this question a lot lately.... "When are you guys going to have a baby?"

How do you really even know when you are "ready"? I think the idea of having a baby stresses me out more than getting married... and that stressed me out A LOT!

My mom has already started buying baby clothes.... and these books:

If I wasn't already freaked out enough, reading these books would definitely do it!

My original plan was to wait until I am 30... but now that 30 is slowly creeping closer (ok, I have 3 years), I find myself feeling anxious.

Don't get me wrong, I have had the itch... having 12 nephews and nieces forces you to have the itch a lot... all those cute baby smiles and toys and clothes. BUT, how do you know that you are absolutely ready?? I guess if I have to ask that question, it probably means I am NOT READY.

So for now, no baby stories here... you are just going to have to wait!

12 already?

Yep, that's right. I became an Aunt (again) for the 12th time this past weekend.

Introducing Miss Mary Woodall born on July 17th, 2009.

I have not yet had the privilege of meeting Miss Mary since we were in Richmond this past weekend visiting two of my other nieces, Elizabeth and Anna. We have not seen Elizabeth since December and she has grown so much since then. This was the 1st time we have met little Anna since she was just born 6 weeks ago on June 2nd, 2009.

Sweet little Anna enjoying a nap with Justin

and bottle time with me.

Elizabeth: "Look what I can do"

Anna and Elizabeth before our walk around the block

Anna: "No more pictures please!"

Elizabeth: "I've almost mastered this walking thing"

Bye Elizabeth and Anna... we'll see you soon!!

Backyard Extravaganza

Saturday we had a "Backyard Extravaganza". We invited 54 people and around 30 actually showed up. The good news is the alcohol my in-laws brought a few weeks ago is pretty much gone... the bad news is my camera was broken in all the mayhem.

Some of the decorations:
Some of the food:
"Backyard Extravaganza"
Old College Friends
Playing Guitar Hero on the inflatable TV screen

more Guitar Hero
The camera is starting to die....
Last picture... camera is DEAD!! BOOO
Any suggestions on a new camera? I am really sad it is broken and need to replace it ASAP

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
