Remember my snow lady?

Well folks, I have some bad news.....

First her eyes, nose, mouth, and hands fell off

Then she starting shrinking... a lot.... 

And now? 

I will miss you little snow lady -- come back again soon!

It's official folks... I'm a freak

I don't cook very often (sorry hubby).

I definitely don't create my OWN recipes.

I have BASIC cooking skills (and that is probably giving myself too much credit).

But last night?

I created my OWN recipe ----- for dessert

However, I am reluctant to tell you guys about it because I am afraid you are going to think I am WEIRD.  


Because it's weird..........

Like ice cream and pickles weird...

But I'll tell you anyway... because ya'll are my friends


MY RECIPE:
I cut up a banana.
I put it into a skillet and warmed it up.
While it was warming up, I put soy sauce on top and let it heat through.

Then I ate it. 

Are you barfing?

Am I a complete freak or what?

Needing to vent.............


Today before class my instructor comes up and says to my friend and me "I need to talk to you ladies"


uh-oh.


She proceeds to tell us that while she was teaching the day before, "we were distracting her because we were writing a note back and forth".  She says that, "not only were we distracting her but most likely we were distracting the ENTIRE class" and that "we need to stop and this CANNOT continue for the rest of the semester".


I look at "B" and she looks back at me with the look that says, "Is this lady for real?!" but we both say ok and she finally leaves. 


Our class is 3 hours long.  Halfway through we have a 10 minute break.  By the break, EVERYONE in class knows about and/or actually heard the conversation between us and our instructor.  


How embarrassing -- apparently I have regressed to kindergarten and am getting in trouble for stuff that I figure is WAY BEYOND my years.


I think it was a little ridiculous to get called out for something so stupid... especially in a class that half of the kids are on their computers looking at FACEBOOK instead of paying attention.  I wasn't even writing a NOTE... I was drawing a PICTURE!  The class is 3 hours long -- give me a break.


If I were doing bad in the class... sure, maybe you could make an example out of me.... but I have a 98 in the class.. if I want to take a few minutes out of the day to DOODLE then let me!!!!!


Anyone want to see the big "NOTE" that got me in trouble?

This is what I get in trouble for?? Can't you find someone else to pick on?? How about the person in the BACK of the room that wrote on Facebook (during CLASS), "this lady seems nice but her voice is about to put me to sleep. for real"

UGH... life isn't fair...

So Justin's 29th birthday is in 2 weeks.

Did I mention he is the HARDEST person in the WORLD to buy for?!

I am at a loss as to what to get him.

Because sometimes it is fun to be silly with the girls and try on the most FUGLY dresses you can find....

I have to admit I am mildly tempted to buy Snookies book... after all it is a "New York Times Bestseller"

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 !! 

NOW figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year (ex: I was born in 1982 and I will be 29 this year ... so 82 + 29 = 111)

It is the year of the "1's" How funny!!

Other cool dates in my life:

• We moved into our house on 07/06/05
• I turned 25 on 05/06/07
• I was married on 06/07/08
• Went on my first vacation alone AND saw my first shooting star on 8/9/10

Yesterday I went to play BINGO.  I may have been one of the youngest people there but I came prepared.... afterall, Bingo is a serious business!

 I bought 15 cards per game for only $12.  Then I was given 3 FREE additional cards PER GAME because I brought a friend.

So I played 18 cards each game -- and since there are 10 games,  I played 180 cards over the course of the night.

Also as you can see, I have my OWN personalized "Dauber bag".   What is a "Dauber" do you ask?

These are "Daubers".  I have one in almost every color.  You use them to mark your bingo card.

And the best part about last night??

I WON!!! 

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have any weird hobbies that you enjoy? 

I was shocked today because a friend asked me:

"How many more hours of volunteer work do you need for school?" (we are required to do 30 hours before we graduate).  

I told her I was finished with those hours and now just volunteer because I want to.  

She said "You volunteer for fun? Why would you do that? As soon as my hours are up I am done"

I thought it was funny because I never saw those 30 hours as a "requirement" for school... volunteering is just what I do... 

I volunteer.  It's a part of who I am.  I have been doing it since I was 10 years old.

I volunteer occasionally for Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Second Harvest Food Bank, MS Walk... but don't really have a "regular" volunteer position...

Until now!

For the next 8 weeks I will be volunteering for a few hours each week at this place:

My job will be to help (as a "spotter") to help kids that have "special needs" go horseback riding as a part of physical therapy for them.   I basically will be walking along side of them (and the horse) and holding on to them and praying, hoping, willing making sure they don't fall off.  This therapy is used to help them stretch, use their core muscles, and improve their balance.  Some of these kids are wheelchair bound and being up on these horses increases their self-esteem and outlook on their lives.  It really is such a rewarding volunteer position and I am so excited to be a part of it.

Book Worm

Another goal this year is to read at least 2 (non-school) books each month.

My thoughts at the end? I have no idea....

Has anyone else read this? What were your thoughts?

It's so sad and ends with so many questions unanswered.  I wish there was a part 2.  The author spent so much time in the beginning of the book explaining EVERYTHING and then the end was just so disappointing.  My rating is about a 6/10.

I know there is also a movie... has anyone seen it? Thoughts?

I scream, you scream, we all scream for SNOW CREAM!!

Snow Cream Recipe (for 2 people!)
4 cups snow

• 1/4 cup white sugar
• 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup milk

**mix it all together and enjoy immediately!! Yummy yummy.  Be sure to stay away from the yellow snow!!

Snow Day

Also Titled "WTH happened to Amy Day?" or "Girl can't stand up on her own two feet"

Let me paint the picture for you.... 

Amy:  It snowed - I can't wait to make a snowman!!! Justin, do you want to join me?! 

Justin: Not now Amy, I'm working.. maybe in a hour?

Amy: Well, I can't wait - I'll get started and you can help me out later.

Justin: (goes back downstairs and starts working again)

Amy: (starts getting dressed in lots of layers upstairs in the bedroom)

*****CRASH!!****

Amy: OWWWWWW... owwwwwwww... owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 

Justin: (running upstairs) AMY?!?! ARE YOU OK!?!??! WHAT HAPPENED?!?!

Amy:  (lying on the floor face down with big crocodile tears) OWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! *SOB SOB* OWWWWWWWWWWWW

Justin: WTH!? What happened?! Are you OK!?

Amy: I *SOB SOB* fell....

Justin: You fell? How?!

Amy: I was standing and then I wasn't -- All of the sudden I was on the ground and I think I totally screwed up my foot

I have no idea what the heck happened to me guys... 

I was standing in front of a full length mirror and I still can't even describe it... 

all I know is my foot hurts REALLY bad -- it is all swollen and bruised and I can hardly walk.  This is the epitome of being a clutz... I wasn't even moving... just standing up and trying to get dressed

No fun in the snow for this girl... I've been sitting with my foot propped up with an ice pack all day... boo... hope I get back on my feet (literally) really soon!

It's a COLD mess

Today was supposed to be my first day back to school after "Winter Break"

BUT INSTEAD.....

It's a SNOW DAY!!
I woke up this morning, looked outside and saw this:

At least 3-5 inches of snow!! 

Incase you don't know that is a BIG deal in NC.  EVERYTHING in the city is closed! Nearby cities have everything closed and they don't even have snow YET...haha! I love living in the South!

I spied on my new neighbor shoveling his sidewalk... doesn't he want to do ours too??

Gracie tried to find the last bit of grass to "do her business on" -- she is a homebody and does not enjoy the snow at all

But I made her stay out long enough to snap a picture of the pretty winter wonderland....
