I was really sick last weekend... and my husband and I had this texting conversation

My husband makes me laugh... he loves using the smiley/sad faces. I am pretty sure he uses them EVERYTIME we text each other.... and EVERYTIME they make me smile!

Good vs. Bad

Wake Forest Football Season is right around the corner!

You may remember from last year that we have a REALLY big tailgate group.

We make pinatas of the opposing teams mascots and BEAT THEM UP before each game to get us all pumped up.

Well, the pinatas have arrived...

Aunt Amy for the 13th time!

I have put off telling you guys some news because I wanted a picture to post on here with the news (but I still haven't received one)

Anyway....

The good news: I became an aunt for the 13th time to a sweet little boy.

The sad news: He was born with Down's Syndrome. I now have 1 nephew and 1 niece with Down's Syndrome. What are the odds of that happening? 2/13 have Down's Syndrome... that is just crazy. We are in shock but so thankful that he seems healthy and happy.

Since I can't show you a picture (yet) of my new nephew, I will show some of my other nieces and nephews!

Bad Hair Day

Justin: Not really.....

Here in the south, we love our country music...

So when I got a chance to go see Toby Keith (and Trace Adkins) in concert a few weeks ago, of course I said yes!

Unfortunately it was an outdoors concert in the INSANELY hot NC summer (about 95 degrees that day)

So we tried our best to stay cool with a few cold beers and lots of singing and dancing!

(please excuse the pictures -- we were all hot and sweaty and for some reason I look naked in all the pictures - I promise I had clothes on!!)

30 Day Shred Update:

Day ?! whatever: I have been emailed a couple of times about where I am in progression of the Shred. Well, the Shred fell apart the other day and I missed a couple of days in a row. Since then, it has been really hard to start doing it everyday. I am trying to get motivated again to do it.... I have been doing zumba 3x week and walking everyday but that is all. The "diet" is what is killing me. For me, summer means ice cream and birthdays and REALLY bad food. I am trying my hardest. I have "officially" lost 5lbs and am down a size in my clothes (WOOO) - so I am trying my best to stay motivated. Thanks for all the support - I couldn't do it without you guys!

Guitar or Busted Nails

Convo with my mom:

Mom: Amy, I have a secret to tell you but you can't tell anyone.

Me: ok.....? Tell me.

Mom: I am going to get a hobby.

Me: um, ok... what sort of hobby?

Mom: I am going to start taking guitar lessons. Do you think that is dumb?

Me: No Mom, that is awesome!! When are you going to start?

Mom: Well maybe in a couple of weeks. I just got my nails done yesterday and I don't want to mess them up.

Me: hahaha... you are joking right?

Mom: no.. they are REALLY pretty too!

Me: hahaha

My parents are the best. They can always make me laugh.

Confessions

Confession: I had no idea that I did a post yesterday. I had scheduled it a long time ago and literally forgot about it. When I started getting "comment alerts" on my blackberry I was so confused that I had to sign online to see what you guys were even talking about. For a moment I thought someone had taken over my blog!

However... a lot of people were wanting an answer to my post question yesterday... so here is the answer:

it was a bottle. Katie was 100% in saying it was a BEER bottle. I tipped the mostly empty bottle (of Landshark Beer) up towards the TV and took a picture. I think it looked pretty neat!

Confession #2: I am sorry I haven't been updating ya'll with our shredding progress. I had my in-laws pop in for a surprise visit for 5 days and have had NO TIME to blog. We had a few days hiatus on the shredding but are back on track now. I have lost 4.2lbs!! Awesome!

30 Day shred update

Day 16 for me / Day 4 for hubs: I CHEATED! I did not do the shred today... OH NO! Instead I went to eat lots of popcorn and watch Eclipse with my BFF. Justin did great though. He stayed on track. I am going to make up for it tomorrow with zumba followed by shredding. I was doing so well too... dang.... oh well, we all mess up once in awhile!
