Many Thanks to BLC at The Company She Keeps for naming me Queen for a day!! She has a super cute blog so go check it out sometime!!

The rules:
1.List seven things that make us awe-summm.
2.Pass the award on to seven bloggers we love.
3.Tag those bloggers to let them know that they are now Queens of All Things Awe-Summm.
4.Don't forget to link to the Queen that tagged us.
5.If you would like, copy the pic and put it on your sidebar so everyone knows that you're a Queen.

No Smoking Please

Never thought it would happen.... but there is (will be as of Jan. 2010) a ban on smoking indoors in North Carolina.

I mean we are the leading tobacco-producing state in the nation. I never thought it would happen... and I couldn't be happier!!

Our Governor, Bev Perdue, signed this bill in hopes that it would be a positive impact on public health. I, however, am happy that I can now go out and not have to worry about heading to the dry-cleaners the next day because my clothes smell like a stinky cigarette. There is nothing worse than having a great night of fun and then coming out of the bar/restaurant and realizing you smell like an ashtray.

I never really understood the whole "smoking section" and "non-smoking section" they propose in restaurants/bars.

Well, guess we won't have to worry about that anymore.... crazy

Walking for a cure

MS WALK 2009
Our Team Photo

Balloons released to honor those that are not longer with us. As soon as they were released the sun came out. God was watching.

Jonathan (our friend we were walking for), Katie, Justin and Me

Katie and Me

We had a great day. The weather was perfect. We are very proud of our accomplishments.

Never in a million years did I guess we would raise $7650.00.

Go us! Woop Woop!

Write this down

Every year we get something called the Country Music Mega Ticket. Basically this means for approx. $150 you get to go to the following country music concerts:

1. George Strait (with Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough)
2. Brad Paisley (with Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne)
3. Toby Keith (with Trace Adkins)
4. Rascal Flatts (with Darius Rucker)
5. Alan Jackson (with TBA)

You really cannot beat the price... usually Kenny Chesney comes... but this year he ditched us.

Last night was the first concert. George Strait was great and we had a wonderful time

Katie and Me

really bad shot of George Strait

my bad attempt at a self portrait of the whole group

and last but not least.... something you could only see in the south at a country music concert.... yes, those are chairs on top of this HUGE truck. WOW.

Fun on the lake

So last weekend was mother's day. We went to the lake where my brother lives for lots of fun and food. Although everyone couldn't make it, we still had a blast.

I got my mom a mother's day present from Etsy. This is the first time I have ever bought anything from Etsy and I was VERY VERY impressed by what I received.

This is a gorgeous forget-me-not necklace made from REAL forget-me-not flowers. You can even pick the sort of chain you want the pendant to go on. Please check out this seller, Botanical Creations... you will NOT be disappointed. She makes tons of things from flowers she grows in her garden in Washington State. The picture does not even do it justice...

My mom gave me a forget-me-not paperweight when I went away to college (even though I only "went away" 10 minutes down the road). She said she didn't want me to forget about her or where I came from. Ever since then , we exchange forget-me-not items back and forth. This was the perfect gift to give her and I was so pleased with the item I may get one myself!

Birthday update

Onto other news.... aka time for the birthday update...

thanks for all the birthday wishes!! I had a great CINCO DE MAYO (aka: my pre-birthday). I had such a great time that night that I was sick my entire birthday :( yes, apparently I am not a spring chicken anymore and hangovers suck as you get older! BOO.

lesson learned: Amy + Tequila = bad idea

here is the only picture I am willing to share with the world from that night... my eyes are closed... I think I may have already been asleep...

God did provide me with a pretty birthday rainbow so I guess He isn't too mad at me...

long time gone

first things first... we were able to raise $520 at the party for MS WALK that we co-hosted. Here are some pictures from the party:

so little time...

so much to post, so little time.

tonight is cinco de mayo and tomorrow is my birthday!!

I started a tradition of going out every cinco de mayo since everyone is out drinking and celebrating anyway...I feel like everyone is out to celebrate my birthday a day early! So, with that being said, I am heading out on the town tonight to celebrate...and I will post a LOT tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a happy and safe cinco de mayo (aka: my pre-birthday).
